A Associação Temática de Entertainment (TEA) é uma associação internacional sem fins lucrativos que representa criadores, desenvolvedores, designers e produtores de entretenimento temático. Fundação

O chá foi fundado em 1991 por Monty Lunde, ex -designer de efeitos especiais da Disney que iniciou a empresa de efeitos especiais Technifex com seu parceiro de negócios Rock Hall. Prêmios

O chá apresenta os prêmios anuais da THEA a projetos que exemplificam os mais altos padrões de excelência e conquista, incluindo indivíduos, parques, atrações, exposições e experiências na indústria de entretenimento temática. O Thea Awards começou em 1994 com um único homenageado: Harrison "Buzz" Price, o primeiro ganhador do Thea Lifetime Achievement Award. Esse prêmio agora é chamado de prêmio Buzz Price Thea por uma vida inteira de realizações notáveis ​​em sua homenagem. O segundo destinatário foi Marty Sklar em 1995. Bob Gurr foi o destinatário em 1999. Em 1996, foram introduzidos os prêmios por excelentes conquistas (AOA) e dez foram distribuídos. Nos anos seguintes, foram criadas categorias especiais adicionais da AOA, garantindo um evento com vários prêmios. Qualquer pessoa pode nomear um projeto, mas o julgamento é conduzido por um comitê que inclui todos os homenageados da conquista vitalícia passada, uma ligação do conselho e nove membros-em geral nomeados para mandatos de três anos.
