Em sua vida, a reputação de Hoppé atraiu muitas figuras importantes britânicas e norte -americanas em política, literatura e artes. Na época antes da Primeira Guerra Mundial, Hoppé fotografou muitos assuntos e figuras literários líderes do mundo da arte, como Henry James, Rudyard Kipling, John Masefield, Léon Bakst, Anna Pavlova, Tamara Karsavina e outros dançarinos dos balés Russes, Violet Hunt, Richard Strauss, Jacob Epstein e William Nicholson, alguns dos quais foram incluídos em sua exposição de 1913. No início da década de 1920, ele foi convidado a fotografar Queen Mary, King George e membros da família real. Outros assuntos da década de 1920 incluíram Albert Einstein, Benito Mussolini, Robert Frost, Aldous Huxley, George Bernard Shaw e A.A. Milne. Na década de 1930, Hoppé fotografou vários dançarinos da Vic-Wells Company, incluindo Margot Fonteyn, Ninette de Valois, Hermione Darnborough e Beatrice Appleyard.

Trabalhando em um estúdio primeiro no tribunal de Londres em 10 Margravine Gardens (1907-10), ele se mudou mais tarde em 1911 para um estúdio da Baker Street. Em 1913, ele assumiu um arrendamento de 7 Cromwell Place, ocupando todos os trinta e três quartos da casa anterior de Sir John Everett Millais, que mais tarde (de 1937) foi usado pelo fotógrafo de dança Gordon Anthony e subsequentemente Francis Bacon. Hoppé também fez retratos dos tipos de rua de Londres: ele fotografou produtos de limpeza ingleses, empregadas domésticas e vendedores ambulantes em seu estúdio e na rua. Ele continuou essa prática de capturar homens e mulheres comuns ao longo de sua carreira enquanto viajava pelo mundo.

Viagens e paisagem

Em 1919, Hoppé começou a viajar pelo mundo em busca de novos assuntos e paisagens. Suas jornadas o levaram à África, Alemanha, Polônia, Romênia, Tchecoslováquia, Estados Unidos, Cuba, Jamaica e Índias Ocidentais, Austrália, Nova Zelândia, Japão, Indonésia, Cingapura, Malásia, Índia e Ceilão. As fotografias resultantes foram publicadas em vários livros.
